Sunday, May 15th, 2011

If you have your own pool then you most likely enjoy swimming. And if it is really so then you probably know that you can hardly enjoy swimming in cold water. In order to heat water in your pool you either need to have a special heating system or alternatively you can use solar pool cover.

While any electric powered heating system for your swimming pool may cost a little fortune, solar pool covers will serve the same purposes and you won’t have to pay as much money for it as in the first case. The initial cost is really affordable and the only price you pay is the price of the cover. You won’t have to pay additional money for electricity, and the water in your pool will always be warm.

Technically, solar pool cover is a wrap made of bubbles. Solar heat is accumulated within these bubbles at day time and protects water from cooling at night. Thus, you do not need any other tools or devices to keep the temperature of water always warm.

Although solar pool covers are an ideal tool to heat water in your swimming pool, there’s no way you can swim in this pool covered with wrap. It means that you will have to pull solar pool cover off each time you want to swim and you will need to pull it on later to heat water again.

If you have a person who can help you to pull cover off and on, then you won’t need additional devices. Otherwise, you will need a special swimming pool reel. Such reel can be purchased together with solar pool cover or you can buy it later if you so desire.

Solar pool cover reels can be used not only to pull the wrap off, but also to store it while you swim in your pool. Many consumers find it to be a better and a more convenient option rather than to simply fold their pool covers or store them otherwise.

You should notice that solar pool cover is not meant to keep water in your swimming pool clean. You will need to clean your pool additionally or to use some other tools to protect it from dust and dirt. You may also want to find some space to store your solar pool cover at winter when you do not need it to heat water in the swimming pool.
